Free, group walks led by qualified leaders. From short walks on even ground with places to rest for those with limited mobility, to longer and tougher walks for those looking for more of a challenge.
Shape-Up Harrow
Harrow’s free weight management service run by Watford Football Club. ‘Shape Up’ offers either a 12-week in-person course or an app-based programme if your BMI is 28+ and you are aged 18-65.
Exercise on referral
Reduced fee gym membership for 3 or 9 months, including an 8–12-week personal plan developed with a qualified instructor. Referral via GP for inactive adults at risk of developing chronic disease.
Street Tag
Download an app to collect virtual tags along your favourite walking, cycling, running, or rolling routes. Tags equal points, and points help you climb the leaderboards to win prizes. Compete on your own or create a team with friends and family.
Strength and balance sessions
A free exercise programme aimed at preventing falls in older people has been launched in Harrow. The Falls Preventions project offers strength and balance sessions for the over 65s.
